The Road to Cincinnati
Chilly WUCC 2022 EOI
Chilly is excited to announce plans to qualify for and attend the 2022 World Ultimate Club Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA) in the Open Division .
Expressions of interest are now open, and welcomed from any player interested in the campaign, regardless of current club or level of experience. The strongest team possible will be selected from players attending try-outs, and players are able to join the Chilly WUCC team while concurrently playing the regular nationals season with their home club.
Selection Information
The campaign will comprise of team selection events, 2-3 weekly trainings, a qualification and seeding tournament (in AUS), and finally the WUCC tournament itself (in USA) as well as expected personal strength and conditioning work outside of the existing training commitments.
Selections will be held on two consecutive weekends, with 2 x 3 hour tryouts held on each of the 28th/29th of August and the 4th/5th of September (location TBA). The team will then be selected and successful players notified prior to the first training on the 15th of September.
*Please note* - Players selected for the Chilly WUCC campaign are not required to try-out and play for the Chilly AUC squad. The season has been structured this way to allow for a strong WUCC campaign to flourish, whilst not impacting the focus Chilly will put on developing players over the upcoming nationals campaign (details to come).
The form linked here will remain open until the 15th of August, after which invitations to selections will be emailed to players, along with further details about the campaign.
Some details as we know right now:
- We are currently unsure of the number of bids Australia will receive to attend the event.
- The event will be held in Cincinnati (OH), USA
- Running from 23rd - 30th July 2022
